Review: The Elite Ops Series by Lora Leigh

This series is a spin-off of Lora Leigh's Tempting Seals series. I read all the books in one week's time because I became somewhat obsessed! *wink*

First let me say, I recommend you read Tempting Seals first. There is a lot of cross over between the Ops and the Seals. Also, the last few books in the Ops series are critical to the kickoff of the Ops.

When I read the last Tempting Seals book, I was disappointed that one of the main characters did not have his own story because boyfriend DESERVED his own book. Imagine my joy when I found out about Elite Ops! Happy happy joy joy!!!

Elite Ops is a group of men that work for the United States government but these men do not exist. They have pledged their lives for up to twelve years to serve their country as "dead men." Each man of the group has a horrible, painful past that leads them to the Elite Ops. They are deadly, human weapons that do covert operations to save us all.

Each story focuses on what has happened to each man, how they struggle with their new lives while trying to put the past behind them. Oh and how they meet some kick ass females and how they have to come to grips with falling in love when they aren't supposed to have any ties to family, friends and a happy life.

Lora Leigh knows how to write strong male and female leads. This series is no different. If you are looking for some hot, kick ass men, women that won't put up with their crap, hot monkey sex and lots of action then this series is for you!

Vhampy's rating: 4 1/2 hot monkey sex stars!

Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance)

Title: Eternal Rider
Author: Larissa Ione
Series: Lords of Deliverance
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Reviewed by: Vhampy

This is the first book in the Lords of Deliverance spinoff of the Demonica series by Larissa Ione.

As a lover of Larissa Ione's Demonica series, I was so sadden to hear when she decided that she needed to put those hot demons behind her and focus on these four horsemen. I never should have been sad because Larissa delivered with this book!

Sin Undone (last book in the Demonica series) first introduced us to the four horsemen and this book picks right where Sin Undone left off. In the first few pages there was a lot of information to dissect since we were dealing with a brand new world. I found myself having to read the pages over a few times just to make sure I was tracking properly. Once I did that...I was sucked into the vortex that is the Eternal Rider.

Eternal Rider focuses on Ares, the God of War as he tries to keep his seal intact and fight his brother...another four horseman that become Pestilence in Sin Undone. Ares meets my requirements as a hot sexy bastard. Ares is honey pot approved!

As you know with me...I don't like to give away too many details. I loved all aspects of this book. Hot monkey sex? Check. Lots of action? Check. A really good story? Check. A kick ass author that took me into her world easily and I didn't want to leave? Check.

Note of caution: if you have not read the Demonica series, you need to. There is too much information that is passed over to the Lords of Deliverance. PLUS...there is a lot of Demonica cross over. My only complaint...Lore wasn't there. He better be in the next one or this Vhampy is gonna cut someone.

All in all...a fantastic start to a brand new series. Now I have to wait six months of the second book!

Review: Dominic (Lords of Satyr #4)

Title: Dominic (Lords of Satyr #4)
Author: Elizabeth Amber
Series: Lords of Satyr
Genre: Paranormal Romance

People, people, people. You may be wondering why I am reviewing another Lords of Satyr book after the devastation that was book three. Let me tell you something about myself...I am not a quitter and I knew the next book in this series just had to be better. You know what? I was right!

This book really was two stories that focused on Emma (Jane's sister) and Vincent (Jane's son). The series has moved further into the future (Vincent is 26).

Let's talk about Emma first. Also, I did not mention in my other review that this series takes place in the 1800s in Italy. Now back to Emma. Emma has grown into a delicate woman that feels the need to please others while her insides are screaming NO. I'm not going to completely judge her since it is the 1800s. Sweet delicate Emma is now married to a Satyr relative. Even though she is married, she meets Dominic. Dominic is from Elseworld and is critical to keeping the peace in Elseworld. Let me tell you a little somethin' somethin' about Dominic. He is a hot bastard! The had one of the most erotic sex scenes I have read in sometime...Emma, Dominic, an extra and a mirror. I had to fan myself. Hot monkey mirror sex indeed.

The second part of the story focuses on Vincent who is no longer a child. Vincent is a man and the author was so determined to make the reader think of Vincent as a man that she CONSTANTLY mentions his "man-ness". Eleven and seven, ladies. Eleven and seven.

I wasn't sure why these two character's stories were included in one "book" but I understood at the end. These stories were not only critical as they were slightly entwined but Ms. Amber is making sure the Satyr audience knows that the offspring are now in control of Satyr lands.

My rating: ****
